A whole lot of baby talk. Nguyen is famed for his phrases like ‘That’s poker baby’, ‘Scotty wins’ and ‘You call this one and it’s all over baby’. And they just keep coming.

POKER BLING:
Scotty has built up an impressive tournament resume, winning 5 WSOP bracelets, being the first player in history to win the triple crown of a WSOP Main Event, WPT Championship and the WSOP $50k H.O.R.S.E. Championship. Out of the numerous events he has cashed in on, he has reached the final table in almost half of them and generally finished inside the top 25. He loves his fans and takes time out to put on a show for them, making him one of the most loved poker players on the circuit. And if that’s not bling enough, check out his gold chains baby!

RUMOUR HAS IT:
Scotty was a bad boy in his early years having escaped a destabilizing Vietnam for America, he was hosted by a family in California where he promptly got bored of school and terrorised the neighbourhood with thievery and vandalism. Poker re-directed his excess energy but some of his less savoury tendancies have popped out as seen in his drunken outburst at the 2008 WSOP H.O.R.S.E. final table. Scotty’s usual friendliness and warmth was replaced by disdainful behaviour towards players and staff. He did apologise afterwards though!

FAMOUS PROP BETS:
Scotty’s comment prior to the 2009 WSOP has been turned into a bet in the poker rooms. He stated that he will quit poker if he earns less than $4m during the summer’s event. The jury is still out at time of writing. Most people would be happy just winning the one million!
